About This Place

Located in the vibrant Lincoln Avenue neighborhood of Chicago, Zenails stands out as a sanctuary for nail care enthusiasts seeking quality, artistry, and a genuinely welcoming atmosphere. Specializing in gel manicures, classic manicures, pedicures, and intricate nail art, Zenails offers a comprehensive nail salon experience that keeps customers coming back time and time again.

What truly sets Zenails apart is their unwavering commitment to both craftsmanship and customer satisfaction. As longtime patrons like Emily Beam testify, their nails "never break" and the pricing remains refreshingly affordable without sacrificing excellence. This balance of quality and value creates a rarity in today’s beauty landscape.

Walking into Zenails, you immediately feel the calm and relaxed environment that so many reviewers have praised. Photography Files highlights the "peaceful low tension environment," where technicians patiently help you select the perfect shade—even if it means taking a bit more time to get it exactly right. This kind of attentive care permeates every service, giving you confidence that your nails receive meticulous attention.

The durability of their gel manicures is nothing short of impressive. Kate’s experience speaks volumes: five weeks with no chipping, just natural nail growth, which is plainly the mark of expert technique and high-quality products. This level of longevity combined with flawless shine means you can trust Zenails to keep your hands looking polished and professional, even through daily wear and tear.

Zenails also shines in accessibility and convenience. Whether you need a last-minute appointment, as Kate did, or you’re new to the salon scene like Gwyneth Hu and her boyfriend, the friendly staff quickly make you feel at home. Their acceptance of Venmo for tips is a modern touch that clients appreciate, adding to the seamless experience.

But beyond professionalism and skill, what resonated deeply from the reviews was the personal connection customers felt. Danielle Blumenfeld’s words capture this beautifully: staff "listen to what you don’t like and what you do," crafting custom looks that feel truly yours. Whether it’s a bold, shiny orange manicure or a subtle, elegant nail design, Zenails reveals its artistry through a personalized approach that feels thoughtful and genuine.

For anyone in Chicago craving a nail salon that combines technical mastery, a warm and relaxing setting, and an honest desire to make you feel beautiful and cared for, Zenails is a rare gem. Each visit is an invitation to treat yourself, not just your nails, leaving you uplifted and confident every time you walk out the door.

One of the best nail salons I’ve been to. Got a gel manicure and it’s been a week and it’s literally still perfect! They try to match your nail shade even if it takes time and they're extremely sweet and just an overall peaceful low tension environment. My nails are glossy and look beautiful even after using my hands a lot and bumping into things. First time here but will definitely be coming back

They were able to squeeze me in day of for a simple no-chip gel manicure - was in and out in 50 minutes. My person took her time and was friendly. They also accept Venmo which is convenient! Would recommend and come back again. UPDATE: it’s been 5 weeks and they haven’t chipped. They’ve grown out of course, but that’s a given

Love it here! They do such a great job and really know how to take care of your nails. I’ve only been twice but both times I’ve left loving my nails! Everyone is so nice and listens to what you don’t like and what you do. I am obsessed with my nails this time. I asked for orange shiny nails and they hit it spot on! Will be coming here consistently :)

They did me and my boyfriends nails beautifully, it was both of our first times and we were warmly welcomed and felt comfortable. Staff is very friendly. They did a great job, prices are reasonable and they take venmo for tip! Will definitely come back again!!

I WISH THEY WERE IN NYC! I live in Brooklyn but was in Chicago visiting friends. I needed my nails done so, naturally, I did my Google’s, came across this fine salon, and decided to head here because of the amazing reviews — I must say that they went above and beyond my expectations. From the moment I walked in I knew it would be a great experience. Qi started me off and was delightful. Then one of the incredible ladies coloured my nails and I am loving them! Sadly, I can’t remember her name but she was so lovely and the conversation we had was amusing and funny! I will definitely come back here every time I’m in Chicago. I’ve been to many salons in NY but I haven’t come across one quite like this.

This is the second time I went here. The first time, I researched nail salons around me for probably an hour and this place had the best reviews by FAR. I didn’t find a single bad review, and that’s rare for a nail place. The reviews are true!! The service is amazing and the prices are good! The first time I went with my boyfriend for a date. He got a normal mani/pedi for $45 (no polish but same price if he got polish). I got a no-chip mani/normal pedicure for $65 and it lasted 3 weeks without chipping, and my normal pedicure still looks good now. I only went in to change my manicure colors for Valentine’s Day. The no chip polish change is only $38!! I opted to get a design though (Lisa talked me into it and I’m so happy she did!), which brought my total up to $50. My nail tech is Lisa, and she is such a sweetheart and always gives the best service and attention to detail. The first time I went for a pedicure, just before I got up to pay and leave, she put extra cuticle oil on my toes and wrapped them in plastic wrap before I put my socks and boots on. The winters are so dry here, and that kept my cuticles so hydrated. Make sure you book ahead at least 1-2 days though because they’re normally pretty full. But they’re always pretty accommodating! 10/10 am going again!! *Updating this review 3.5 years after original post: I’ve been going to this nail salon every 2-3 weeks for the past 3 years (with a few 1-2 month breaks here and there). This is the best nail salon in the city. Hands down. Still have fair prices (increased a little bit since my first post, but I think its ~$48 for Gel Mani, ~$75/~$80 for gel mani/regular pedi, not including tip), friendly people, easy scheduling (just give them a call a few days ahead but I know they can also do same day if available), clean tools, and a great color selection. While Lisa (who was my nail tech for the past 3yrs) left earlier this year, at this point, I believe I’ve gotten a manicure from almost every tech here, and every manicure is great and lasts 2-3 weeks. The only time I went to another nail place over the past 3 years was because the shop was closed for Xmas/New Years, and I forgot to book my appt here before they closed for the holidays (as they do every year). The other nail place was in the neighborhood and had good reviews, but when I got there, the environment was chaotic, the service was awful, and I paid like $20+ more there than I do here. Made that mistake once 2 years ago. Only once. I will never go anywhere else in the city for my nails as long as this place is running. I am forever a Zenails loyalist.
